Our Story

Coach Labs was founded by inventor and entrepreneur Jason Koo, driven by a simple idea: sports equipment itself should be intelligent.

For more than a decade, our team has been developing sensor technology capable of capturing performance data directly from the point of impact — the ball.

What began as experimental prototypes and early connected training tools evolved through several generations of innovation including Zen, Duotrac, and GEN i1.

Each generation helped refine the core technology, pushing the boundaries of what was possible in miniaturized electronics, sensor fusion, and mobile analytics.

The R&D Journey

Developing intelligent sports equipment is extremely challenging.

Sensors must survive high-impact forces, maintain perfect balance inside the ball, and transmit accurate data while preserving the feel and performance athletes expect.

Over years of testing, engineering, and iteration, Coach Labs developed the Smart Impact® Platform — a system that embeds intelligent sensor technology directly into sports equipment.

This breakthrough required solving complex problems in:

GEN i2 combines years of research, engineering, and product development into a compact system designed to bring performance tracking and gameplay anywhere.

With rapid setup and a portable design, GEN i2 allows athletes to practice, compete, and experience the game in new ways.

Looking Ahead

Coach Labs is building a multi-sport connected platform powered by Smart Impact® technology.

While the first applications focus on golf, the platform is expanding into additional sports including baseball, cricket, and hockey.
